Job Summary
The Knowledge and Information Manager is a full time position dedicated to collecting data on philanthropy in Europe, Latin America, Africa, Asia and the Middle East, through a partnership with the Foundation Center, and identifying relevant knowledge tools to offer to WINGS’s members.
Responsibilities
Accountable to the Executive Director, the successful candidate’s opportunities and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
• Work with the Foundations Center, WINGS members, and other relevant partners on defining global data standards for philanthropy
• Work closely with WINGS members around the globe to understand their knowledge management needs and to collect, organize and disseminate data on philanthropy
• Improve and update the existing profile form for WINGS member organizations
• Oversee the request for proposal for the WINGS website revision
• Oversee the design of web-based knowledge tools for WINGS members
• Identify appropriate Foundation Center and other relevant tools and products to be adapted for use by WINGS
• Supervise production of the Global Status Reports and other WINGS research projects
• Maintain awareness of trends and current events in the philanthropic sector via monitoring newsletters, blogs and other informational sources
• Prepare project proposals and reports, as needed
• Represent WINGS at international conferences, seminars, exhibitions, etc., when deemed necessary
• Serve as liaison with the Foundation Center in the above responsibilities
• Perform other duties and special projects, as assigned.
Requirements
The successful candidate will have:
• Bachelor’s degree
• Fluency in English and Portuguese
• Working knowledge of Spanish
• Research experience
• PC computer literacy and familiarity with databases, as well as proficiency with MS Office Applications, specifically MS Access and Excel
• Ability to work independently and cooperatively to achieve common goals
• Ability and willingness to multitask and meet deadlines
• Excellent writing, project management and in person and telephone skills
• Brazilian citizenship or valid work permit to work in Brazil
• Travel to the U.S. from Brazil will be required. Candidates must have valid passport and be eligible for entry visa to the U.S.
