Conservation Leadership Manager

The Nature Conservancy

JOB FAMILY: Operations
JOB NUMBER: 550011
SALARY GRADE: 8
FLSA STATUS: Exempt

PROGRAM OVERVIEW:
Two years ago, the Nature Conservancy’s Latin America Region launched the Conservation Leadership & Philanthropy (CL&P) program to systematically and strategically engage Latin Americans whose experience, ideas, networks, and access to resources are crucial to realizing our conservation goals. An important part of this program is building a base of philanthropic support for TNC in Brazil.

Our trustees are key to ultimate success of the CL&P program – and to our conservation programs. Accordingly, we are looking for a dynamic professional to support the operations of the Brazil board of trustees and help staff strategically engage with them.

Additionally, we want to attract and engage other leaders from Brazilian society in our work, broadening the pool volunteers and “influentials” supporting our work. We in part envision doing this through large and small conservation leadership events that will have substantive conservation content and help position TNC with our target audiences. The trustee liaison will also lead the development and execution of these events working closely with conservation, policy and science staff.

Although this is not a philanthropy position per se, one measure of success will be the overall success of the fundraising program in Brazil.
